Inspiration for this series comes from a beaded buffalo hide the artist encountered at the Art Institute of Chicago. Wence has been exploring the compositional relationship between the lines, spaces, diamonds, and dashes of the contrasting colors through the Buffalo Robe series for many years
Buffalo Robe Eclipse from the series now hangs in the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
